What we've been doing
We are deelpy saddened by the death of Chris. A service of thanksgiving took place on Wednesday 13 July at the church. Chris made a major contribution to the life of the fellowship with several behind-the-scenes roles and was much loved. She also helped by supporting her husband Harry, who is our Treasurer. Our love and prayers go out to Harry and the family.
Annual Golf Day
Every year, golf enthusiasts from the church invite fellow players to take part in a tournament. This year, the event took place on Saturday 16 July and was as successful as ever. In a solemn moment, Chris Harris was remembered - she had always been a keen supporter of the event.
A number of us got involvd in the big day in Mary Stevens Park on 23 July. The weather was kind to us and it was great to see so many people having a really good time.
We held our usual Strawberry Tea on 30 July. Again, the weather was kind and we were able to sit outside. A number of friends and local residents joined us for what is becoming a fixed event in the calendar.
Holiday at Home
A new venture! A two day event (9-11 August).
This was an opportunity for older folk who may not be able to get away on holiday to have a short break home from home.
On the Wednesday, there was a range of activities and entertainments at the church. A cooked lunch and afternoon tea were greatly enjoyed.
On the Thursday, there was an outing to Hanbury Hall, the National Trust property.
